Dimensions of this small scale are about 6"(H) x 3¾"(L) x 2½"(W), and its capacity is up to 4 oz. The stamped mark on the back of the column of which reads:

According to this page, the markings above repersent four patents: the Austrian patent (OEST.P. 1766) was granted to the firm Balduin Heller's Söhne from Teplitz in Czechoslovakia. The application was made June 24, 1899, the patent was granted April 1, 1900. The Hungarian patent (UNG.P.16742) was granted to the firm at January 4, of the year 1900. The second German patent (D.R.P. 121631) dates from March 29, 1899 and was also granted to Balduin Heller's Söhne from Teplitz. Therefore the scale is dated to c1900.
